Matías Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elano Quirino hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Phoenix Fc defense, Matías Castro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Fábio Bezerra. The Phoenix Fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Fábio Bezerra should have stopped the shot. Luís Fábio Bezerra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matías Castro's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Morgan Sjöö scored 0-2 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luís Fábio Bezerra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luís Fábio Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Morgan Sjöö, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, E.C Mont Castello - FDFDF's goalkeeper Alfredinho Leão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Haroldo Brito. Veríssimo Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the game, Alfredinho Nogueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Phoenix Fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave E.C Mont Castello - FDFDF the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of Phoenix Fc:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of E.C Mont Castello - FDFDF:s goal. Luís Fábio Bezerra had in the 34thth minute some difficulties stopping Veríssimo Dantas's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Olly Johnson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joaquim Vianna's late challenge caught a E.C Mont Castello - FDFDF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Vianna helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Phoenix Fc getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Joaquim Vianna hit a great ball. E.C Mont Castello - FDFDF's Alfredinho Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adhemar Teles in the 42nd minute of play. After 47 played minutes Phoenix Fc got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldo Camargo. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adhemar Teles was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Haroldo Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Morgan Sjöö took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Fábio Bezerra. Luís Fábio Bezerra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Betão Azevedo's late challenge caught a E.C Mont Castello - FDFDF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 66 played minutes Phoenix Fc got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Vianna. The crowd rose to their feet as Morgan Sjöö kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luís Fábio Bezerra. That made the score 0-5 in the 68 minute of play. In the 72nd minute Olly Johnson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, E.C Mont Castello - FDFDF's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Brito came free, but Alfredinho Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
