SPFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ulisses Sabóia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. SPFC's Dida Mazzola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulisses Sabóia in the 27th minute of play. In the 29thth minute of the game Herminio Izel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SALIMEN's Elói Miranda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Emerson Sena fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SPFC's protests and gave Emerson Sena a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SPFC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Emerson Sena hit a great ball. Dida Mazzola didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Faustino Gerazan went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Herminio Izel was the one to do the kick off. Faustino Gerazan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Dida Mazzola made a huge save. SPFC's Dida Mazzola proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save SPFC from getting a goal against them. In the 61st minute Enéas Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Mazzola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Agnaldo Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SALIMEN made a substitution. Dida Mazzola came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by SALIMEN's Cláudio Pimenta. But to his dismay, Cláudio Pimenta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Dida Mazzola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faustino Gerazan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, SALIMEN's Faustino Gerazan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dida Mazzola. Dida Mazzola yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. 97 minutes into the match, Cláudio Pimenta dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dida Mazzola, 0-5. The SPFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SALIMEN were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
