Capibaribe Stars were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after SERRANO's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Atalay Turkay took the corner. 20 minutes into the match, Daniel Sousa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vincent McGorrie. SERRANO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After some careless play in the SERRANO defense, Daniel Sousa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vincent McGorrie. The SERRANO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vincent McGorrie should have stopped the shot. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind SERRANO's goalkeeper Vincent McGorrie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vincent McGorrie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Sousa's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Vincent McGorrie didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Sousa went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. In the 35th minute, Daniel Sousa made a precise shot to the right of Vincent McGorrie. SERRANO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. When Capibaribe Stars's Daniel Sousa in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 44 minutes of play, Capibaribe Stars's Daniel Sousa made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vincent McGorrie was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 47 played minutes SERRANO got a freekick which was hit by Lucas de Azevedo. 48 minutes into the match, SERRANO's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Sousa came free, but Vincent McGorrie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Capibaribe Stars's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Atalay Turkay in the 50th minute. The corner led Capibaribe Stars's Atalay Turkay to fire away a dangerous shot which Vincent McGorrie despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-8 lead.

An unexpected shot in the 54th minute by Denislav Mesalski got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Daniel Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 55th minute Daniel Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincent McGorrie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57thth minute of the game Daniel Sousa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SERRANO's Vincent McGorrie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Capibaribe Stars's Daniel Sousa in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Sousa in the 63rd minute of play forced SERRANO's goalkeeper Vincent McGorrie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Capibaribe Stars made a substitution. SERRANO's Vincent McGorrie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save SERRANO from getting a goal against them. If Jarl Rossebø had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute Daniel Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vincent McGorrie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Capibaribe Stars booed when SERRANO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vincent McGorrie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute, Daniel Sousa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vincent McGorrie. The goal made the score 0-9. Daniel Sousa might have been able to make a better finish in the 98th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vincent McGorrie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Sousa ran back to his position shaking his head. Vincent McGorrie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Capibaribe Stars could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SERRANO throughout the match.
