Tostão Domingues made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Aníbal Alagoano sent off a good shot on target. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aníbal Alagoano made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Fellipe Botelho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving David Seaman. That made the score 0-2 in the 56 minute of play. Cafu Borges charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cafu Borges the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cafu Borges hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Aníbal Alagoano put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Tostão Domingues.
