Rodrigo Quirino struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Edgard de Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Porvir FC. Porvir FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Evandro Penha in the 8th minute. With a little luck, Porvir FC's João Augusto Soeiro got control of the ball when Paulão Medeiros tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rodrigo Quirino struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Edgard de Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Porvir FC. Fábio Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Edgard de Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute Gino Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard de Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes of play, Porvir FC's Gino Moreira made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgard de Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 35th minute, Rodrigo Quirino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edgard de Almeida didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gino Moreira went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Wilson do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Augusto Soeiro having to interfere. Fábio Félix kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gino Moreira to make the kick off. When Wilson do Nascimento came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Montesclarense E.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilson do Nascimento couldn't finish the play. In the 58th minute, Paulão Medeiros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Augusto Soeiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 63rd minute of the match, Fábio Félix got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edgard de Almeida was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Quirino in the 64th minute of play forced Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Edgard de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Augusto Soeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Eger in the 66th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Paulão Medeiros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Augusto Soeiro was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. João Augusto Soeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulão Medeiros in the 77th minute of the match. Evandro Penha kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. A collision led to Porvir FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Evandro Penha hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the match, Claes Bjurström had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgard de Almeida. Montesclarense E.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claes Bjurström was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Porvir FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
