An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafa Mandrak in the 3rd minute of play forced A.D. Imperial's goalkeeper Valeri Zabelin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Akis Bouzios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Lastur having to interfere. Igor Matos's late challenge caught a A.D. Imperial's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Igor Matos helped the player get up and apologised. After 6 played minutes Clube Atletico Guarulhos got a freekick which was hit by Igor Matos. Akis Bouzioss short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Humberto Lastur to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A.D. Imperial's Clemente Massa couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 13th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Clube Atletico Guarulhos. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Maria Pena in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Humberto Lastur prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 1-0 when José Maria Pena sped through Clube Atletico Guarulhos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Humberto Lastur. In the 18th minute Endrik Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valeri Zabelin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Endrik Sousa in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valeri Zabelin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valeri Zabelin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafa Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Akis Bouzios got free with Humberto Lastur in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arboleda Soberano lost his temper 25 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 29 played minutes A.D. Imperial got a freekick which was hit by Zahir Sahnouni. Valeri Zabelin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kajetan Jestrimski in the 32nd minute of the match. With a little luck, Clube Atletico Guarulhos's Humberto Lastur got control of the ball when José Maria Pena tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Maria Pena got free with Humberto Lastur in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A.D. Imperial's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Clemente Massa in the 37th minute. In the 39th minute of the match, José Maria Pena tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Humberto Lastur saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Humberto Lastur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Maria Pena in the 40th minute of play. In the 44th minute, Rafa Mandrak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kajetan Jestrimski was the one to do the kick off. Kajetan Jestrimski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A.D. Imperial's Antônio Ramalho got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kajetan Jestrimski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A.D. Imperial's Dadá Maravilha was substituted for José Maria Pena. In the 62nd minute Alexander Smith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Lastur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dadá Maravilha struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Humberto Lastur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.D. Imperial. 66 minutes into the match, Clube Atletico Guarulhos's goal looked a bit too open when Dadá Maravilha came free, but Humberto Lastur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A.D. Imperial's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Clemente Massa in the 67th minute. A.D. Imperial's Valeri Zabelin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save A.D. Imperial from getting a goal against them. Akis Bouzios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Lastur having to interfere. In the 73rdth minute of the game Akis Bouzios who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clube Atletico Guarulhos's Humberto Lastur was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the A.D. Imperial defense, Rafa Mandrak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valeri Zabelin. The A.D. Imperial fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valeri Zabelin should have stopped the shot. 80 minutes into the match, A.D. Imperial's goal looked a bit too open when Rafa Mandrak came free, but Valeri Zabelin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 81 minutes A.D. Imperial's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rafa Mandrak who took care of the corner kick. Rafa Mandrak made a great header on Clube Atletico Guarulhos's corner, it was just that A.D. Imperial's Valeri Zabelin managed to reach the ball for a save. Tomás Ceresso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Valeri Zabelin made a huge save. When Alexander Smith came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the A.D. Imperial fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander Smith couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute, Akis Bouzios ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Humberto Lastur was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Tomás Ceresso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Atletico Guarulhos's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Ceresso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valeri Zabelin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 94 minutes into the match, A.D. Imperial's goalkeeper Valeri Zabelin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arlindo Martins. Alexander Smith charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alexander Smith the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 96 played minutes A.D. Imperial got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Smith. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The A.D. Imperial fans cheered their team off the field, for while Clube Atletico Guarulhos had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
