The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of invictus booed when A.D. Imperial was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francesco Briceño didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th match minute, A.D. Imperial was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francesco Briceño to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, José Maria Pena put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Sérgio Cearense. In the 8th minute José Maria Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Cearense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sérgio Cearense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Maria Pena's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Maria Pena in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sérgio Cearense saved invictus from getting behind. José Maria Pena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sérgio Cearense having to make a save. After 15 minutes, Zahir Sahnouni mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A.D. Imperial and the invictus players grew even worse after the yellow card. When A.D. Imperial's José Maria Pena in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye invictus's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raí de Moraes in the 22nd minute of play forced A.D. Imperial's goalkeeper Valeri Zabelin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute invictus were awarded a corner. Serafim Mattos went to the cornerflag to take it. 27 minutes into the match, invictus's goal looked a bit too open when José Maria Pena came free, but Sérgio Cearense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A.D. Imperial's Alexander Smith got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When invictus's Raí de Moraes in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye A.D. Imperial's goalie prevented a goal. Alexander Smith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Sérgio Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. invictus's Sérgio Cearense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Akis Bouzios in the 36th minute of play. Sérgio Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Smith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Maria Pena in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sérgio Cearense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Raí de Moraes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valeri Zabelin was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. A.D. Imperial's Cristian Gâfu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Luciano Mangueira in the 45 minute of the game. Raí de Moraes charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raí de Moraes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. José Maria Pena struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Sérgio Cearense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.D. Imperial. After the first half A.D. Imperial were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when José Maria Pena made the kick off in the second half. José Maria Pena's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Sérgio Cearense skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Zé Pedro Aparecido kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Imperial's Alexander Smith ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sérgio Cearense. Sérgio Cearense yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. A.D. Imperial made a substitution. Dadá Maravilha replaced José Maria Pena. In the 65thth minute of the game Dadá Maravilha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but invictus's Sérgio Cearense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sérgio Cearense made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Dadá Maravilha sent off a good shot on target. After 71 played minutes invictus got a freekick which was hit by Zé Pedro Aparecido. A.D. Imperial were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after invictus's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Clemente Massa took the corner. The corner led A.D. Imperial's Clemente Massa to fire away a dangerous shot which Sérgio Cearense despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Alexander Smith recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sérgio Cearense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dadá Maravilha's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. invictus's Sérgio Cearense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save invictus from getting a goal against them. When A.D. Imperial's Dadá Maravilha in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye invictus's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dadá Maravilha in the 82nd minute of play forced invictus's goalkeeper Sérgio Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Dadá Maravilha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sérgio Cearense. invictus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dadá Maravilha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After 87 minutes, Dadá Maravilha made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. invictus's Sérgio Cearense tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Sérgio Cearense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dadá Maravilha in the 91st minute. Alex Corrêa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Sérgio Cearense made a huge save. Sérgio Cearense came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by A.D. Imperial's Dadá Maravilha. But to his dismay, Dadá Maravilha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. When the match was over A.D. Imperial could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than invictus throughout the match.
