Rafinha Trancoso received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Paulo Leão came out and tried to block the shot, but Rafinha Trancoso slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 7th minute. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Misericordia EC's goalkeeper Paulo Leão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zico Maravilha in the 13th minute of play forced Club Athletico Paulistano's goalkeeper Acácio Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabinho dos Santos got the audience’s attention when, from a short distance, he fired away a great shot in the 17th minute of the game. The shot hit the left post and bounced out. 17 minutes into the game, Fabinho dos Santos lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Paulo Leão. Valdomiro Luz scored 2-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Acácio Lara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 26 played minutes Club Athletico Paulistano got a freekick which was hit by Fabinho dos Santos. Zico Maravilha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Acácio Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafinha Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Misericordia EC's Paulo Leão got control of the ball when Fabinho dos Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Club Athletico Paulistano were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after Misericordia EC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Samuel Seco took the corner. Fabinho dos Santos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Leão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Misericordia EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Fabinho dos Santos scored to the left of an out of position Paulo Leão, making the score, 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabinho dos Santos made a kick off. In the 54th minute Fabinho dos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th match minute, Misericordia EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualter Lima to maneuver through the defense. When Samuel Seco came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Club Athletico Paulistano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuel Seco couldn't finish the play. Misericordia EC's Paulo Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafinha Trancoso in the 62nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Misericordia EC's zone, Fabinho dos Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Leão came out of the goal and Fabinho dos Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Acácio Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdomiro Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After 86 played minutes Misericordia EC got a freekick which was hit by Ovidiu Tomoioagă. Misericordia EC's Jeremias Tinoco was substituted for Valdomiro Luz. In the 87th match minute, Misericordia EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidiu Tomoioagă to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute, Fabinho dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Faustão Terra charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Faustão Terra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Misericordia EC's Faustão Terra got a free kick in the 91st minute. Paulo Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabinho dos Santos in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Zé Paulo de Senna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Athletico Paulistano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1.
