The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Academia do Povo FC's Marcelo Costa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Waldir Diniz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 10th minute, Marcelo Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Waldir Diniz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After 13 minutes, Celedonio Clis made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Zona de Combate's Waldir Diniz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Waldir Diniz came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia do Povo FC's 邓棋桦. But to his dismay, 邓棋桦 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Waldir Diniz came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia do Povo FC's Marcelo Costa. But to his dismay, Marcelo Costa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Zona de Combate's Waldir Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boruc Misiorowski in the 22nd minute of play. Waldir Diniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boruc Misiorowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Boruc Misiorowski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Waldir Diniz. Zona de Combate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Boruc Misiorowski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Costa in the 33rd minute of play forced Zona de Combate's goalkeeper Waldir Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the game, 邓棋桦 cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-8. Waldir Diniz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Zona de Combate defense, Boruc Misiorowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Waldir Diniz. The Zona de Combate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waldir Diniz should have stopped the shot. When Academia do Povo FC's Boruc Misiorowski in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zona de Combate's goalie prevented a goal. In the 47th match minute, Zona de Combate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egídio de Toledo to maneuver through the defense. If Celedonio Clis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-9 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Celedonio Clis was the one to do the kick off. With an all-out effort, Academia do Povo FC's Waldir Diniz threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Boruc Misiorowski, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Waldir Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Costa in the 58th minute of play. Mauro Moreno kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Zona de Combate's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Marcelo Costa scored to the left of an out of position Waldir Diniz, making the score, 0-10. If 邓棋桦 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelo Costa got free with Waldir Diniz in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 70 minutes into the game, Celedonio Clis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-11. Waldir Diniz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 74th minute, Zona de Combate's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Marcelo Costa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Waldir Diniz came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia do Povo FC's Celedonio Clis. But to his dismay, Celedonio Clis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-12. Roger Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Geovanni Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Academia do Povo FC's Marcelo Costa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Waldir Diniz. Waldir Diniz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-13. Waldir Diniz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Boruc Misiorowski went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-14 was the resulting score. The Academia do Povo FC fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when Academia do Povo FC's Marcelo Costa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-15 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Clis in the 91st minute of play forced Zona de Combate's goalkeeper Waldir Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Zona de Combate's Mauro Moreno got a free kick in the 91st minute. 94 minutes into the match, Zona de Combate's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Costa came free, but Waldir Diniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tadeu Abreu during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zona de Combate's Waldir Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Costa in the 99th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Academia do Povo FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Zona de Combate.
