The audience was convinced that Doctor Strange's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benjamim Cabral was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Jonas de Azevedo's late challenge caught a Sport Clube Recife's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamim Cabral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doctor Strange, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After a rather tough play, TIGRE DE OURO's Aaron Neville got a free kick in the 31st minute. Benjamim Cabral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Benjamim Cabral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Doctor Strange went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Benjamim Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter Penha in the 38th minute of play. In the 44th minute, Gualter Penha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benjamim Cabral was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-7 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Horácio Siqueira made a kick off. Benjamim Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doctor Strange, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
