ATHLETICO PRaiano's Rodriguinho Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Freitas in the 6th minute of play. In the 10th minute Deilmison van Basten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Adalberto Félix fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bastioes EC's protests and gave Adalberto Félix a yellow card for diving instead. After 12 played minutes Bastioes EC got a freekick which was hit by Adalberto Félix. Cássio Freitas was extremely unlucky when he, in the 17th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Igor Marinho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Deilmison van Basten went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Armandinho Pirani's late challenge caught a ATHLETICO PRaiano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armandinho Pirani helped the player get up and apologised. Armandinho Pirani hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Bastioes EC were awarded a corner. Rodrigo Paiva went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Rodrigo Paiva got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rodriguinho Sousa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Freitas in the 41st minute of play. Deilmison van Basten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Marinho having to interfere. When Gernando Damião came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Bastioes EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gernando Damião couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

52 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Freitas came free, but Rodriguinho Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Igor Marinho made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Deilmison van Basten sent off a good shot on target. Igor Marinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deilmison van Basten in the 55th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Eusébio Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Bastioes EC's Eusébio Mota got a free kick in the 61st minute. Unax Mudarra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Igor Marinho made a huge save. Deilmison van Basten might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Igor Marinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Deilmison van Basten ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Freitas in the 72nd minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Deilmison van Basten's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Igor Marinho was relentless in the 74th minute of the game.
