Spectators: 147 (Terracing: 111, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 2) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Carlos Santana started the match with the kick off. 8 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Hoffmann came free, but Ronaldo Giovanelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goalkeeper Marcelo Toscano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Santana. Carlos Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcelo Toscano having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlos Santana kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcelo Toscano. That made the score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. Marcelo Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Santana in the 19th minute of play. Galo do Japi's Ronaldo Giovanelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Hoffmann in the 20th minute of play. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Carlos Santana sped through Botafogo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcelo Toscano. After a rather tough play, Botafogo's Sandro Mazza got a free kick in the 24th minute. Carlos Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Marcelo Toscano made a huge save. Carlos Santana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelo Toscano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, one of Botafogo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Luís Britto hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After 36 minutes Botafogo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cafu Ringaa who took care of the corner kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Carlos Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galo do Japi's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Toscano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A sloppy throw-in by Sandro Mazza in the 40th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Galo do Japi's César dos Santos. A collision led to Botafogo getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Paulinho de Lara hit a great ball. In the 44th match minute, Botafogo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorian de Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute of the game Sandro Mazza made a throw-in which Donato Hoffmann played forward. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulinho de Lara made a kick off. Marcelo Toscano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Santana in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute, Carlos Santana made a precise shot to the right of Marcelo Toscano. Botafogo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Marcelo Toscano came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana. But to his dismay, Carlos Santana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 61st minute of the game. One of Botafogo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Galo do Japi:s goal. Marcelo Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Santana in the 66th minute of play. João Pedro Trancoso kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Marcelo Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Santana in the 69th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Justino Rodriguez in the 71st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Galo do Japi's Eriberto de Souza. Galo do Japi were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Botafogo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cafu Ringaa took the corner. Cafu Ringaa made a great header on Galo do Japi's corner, it was just that Botafogo's Marcelo Toscano managed to reach the ball for a save. Paulo Renato Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Galo do Japi booed when Botafogo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Britto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Carlos Santana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Galo do Japi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Marcelo Toscano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After taking down the ball on Galo do Japi's corner Cafu Ringaa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcelo Toscano quite easily take care of the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Carlos Santana notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Botafogo's Marcelo Toscano. Marcelo Toscano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Paulo Renato Saraiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 98th minute, Carlos Santana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Galo do Japi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0.
