With a little luck, LaCity's Décio Tróia got control of the ball when Adalberto Félix tried to sneak it across the goal line. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Bastioes EC's Cássio Freitas in the 13th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Décio Tróia was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for LaCity through an amazing save. In the 21st minute, Cacá Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Décio Tróia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Freitas in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, LaCity's goalkeeper Décio Tróia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adalberto Félix. Bastioes EC's Jairo Arantes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Décio Tróia in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 35th minute Eriberto de Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 minutes of play, Bastioes EC's Cássio Freitas made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Décio Tróia was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Décio Tróia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Félix in the 57th minute of the match. 60 minutes in the game Eusébio Mota did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Adalberto Félix. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalberto Félix in the 61st minute of play forced LaCity's goalkeeper Décio Tróia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. LaCity's Décio Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto Félix in the 67th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Eusébio Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. LaCity's Anselmo Paraibano was substituted for Eriberto de Souza. LaCity made a substitution. Hermínio Siqueira replaced Hílton Amaral. After 69 played minutes Bastioes EC got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Mota. In the 72nd minute, LaCity got a penalty, and Duarte Madureira placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. In the 78th minute Adalberto Félix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Décio Tróia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Décio Tróia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Freitas in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute, LaCity's Edgar de Lara dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-3. LaCity's Décio Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto Félix in the 86th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalberto Félix in the 88th minute of play forced LaCity's goalkeeper Décio Tróia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of LaCity booed when Bastioes EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar de Lara might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Igor Marinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgar de Lara ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgar de Lara got free with Igor Marinho in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Décio Tróia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
