Spectators: 144 (Terracing: 109, Seating: 33, VIP seats: 2) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Edgar de Lara started the match with the kick off. Botafogo's Marcelo Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto de Souza in the 3rd minute of play. The supporters of LaCity booed when Botafogo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dênis Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulinho de Lara in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Décio Tróia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 15th minute, Edgar de Lara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 20 minutes into the game, one of Botafogo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Botafogo's Marcelo Toscano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Botafogo from getting a goal against them. Marcelo Toscano made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Edgar de Lara sent off a good shot on target. After 30 minutes of play Botafogo's Luís Britto was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 30 played minutes Botafogo got a freekick which was hit by Luís Britto. Marcelo Toscano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgar de Lara in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute LaCity were awarded a corner. Harry Kaptein went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 34th match minute, LaCity was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vebjørn Knutsen to maneuver through the defense. Décio Tróia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulinho de Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, LaCity's Edgar de Lara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcelo Toscano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 46 minutes, Donato Hoffmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Botafogo and the LaCity players grew even worse after the yellow card. Donato Hoffmann hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Edgar de Lara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

In the 51st minute, Cacá Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 53 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar de Lara came free, but Marcelo Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 54 minutes, Edgar de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LaCity's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgar de Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcelo Toscano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto de Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Edgar de Lara notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Botafogo's Marcelo Toscano. Marcelo Toscano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Richard Silveira took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelo Toscano. Marcelo Toscano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After 63 played minutes Botafogo got a freekick which was hit by Donato Hoffmann. Toninho de Souza hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. During the 65th minute of the match Donato Hoffmann completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Donato Hoffmann a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of LaCity booed when Botafogo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Hoffmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. LaCity made a substitution. Anselmo Paraibano replaced Eriberto de Souza. In the 68th minute, Donato Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgar de Lara in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelo Toscano saved Botafogo from getting behind. Edgar de Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 85th minute, when Botafogo's Simão Rodrigues after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Décio Tróia in LaCity's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. LaCity's Duarte Madureira quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sandro Mazza, made in the 87th minute of the game. Duarte Madureira made in the 90th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ian Torres. In the 91st minute, Edgar de Lara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Paraibano in the 93rd minute of play forced Botafogo's goalkeeper Marcelo Toscano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Anselmo Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot. LaCity's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Paraibano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Toscano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcelo Toscano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar de Lara in the 96th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the LaCity players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
