When Edgar de Lara came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the LaCity fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgar de Lara couldn't finish the play. 23 minutes into the match, Edgar de Lara notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of KEIPER F. C.'s Eliseu Mendes. Eliseu Mendes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edgar de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Eliseu Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 31 minutes, Edgar de Lara made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. KEIPER F. C.'s Eliseu Mendes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Eliseu Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar de Lara in the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute Edgar de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. KEIPER F. C.'s Eliseu Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar de Lara in the 42nd minute of play. With an all-out effort, LaCity's Eliseu Mendes threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eriberto de Souza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, KEIPER F. C.'s Eliseu Mendes got control of the ball when Edgar de Lara tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 67 minutes, Cícero de Sena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KEIPER F. C. and the LaCity players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 67 played minutes KEIPER F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Cícero de Sena. LaCity made a substitution. Anselmo Paraibano replaced Eriberto de Souza. Cícero de Sena hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Edgar de Lara who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Eliseu Mendes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 71 minutes into the match, Jeferson Senna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Décio Tróia. LaCity's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeferson Senna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. Eliseu Mendes made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Edgar de Lara sent off a good shot on target. In the 76th minute, one of KEIPER F. C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KEIPER F. C.. When the match had been going on for 77 minutes, LaCity's Duarte Madureira got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Eliseu Mendes. Edgar de Lara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eliseu Mendes having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgar de Lara got free with Eliseu Mendes in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A sloppy throw-in by Reginaldo de Barros in the 86th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by LaCity's Cacá Barros. After having played for 90 minutes, Edgar de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LaCity's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgar de Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anselmo Paraibano during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Anselmo Paraibano kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. When the match was over LaCity could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than KEIPER F. C. throughout the match.
