Spectators: 144 (Terracing: 109, Seating: 33, VIP seats: 2) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Carlos Santana started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santana came free, but Durval Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Zeca Caca-Rato managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galo do Japi's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeca Caca-Rato was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durval Coutinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 6th minute Carlos Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Coutinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santana came free, but Durval Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Santana took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Durval Coutinho. Durval Coutinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Carlos Santana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Durval Coutinho having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Santana in the 14th minute of play forced Botafogo's goalkeeper Durval Coutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Santana might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Durval Coutinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Santana ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlos Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 17 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santana came free, but Durval Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Carlos Santana notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Botafogo's Durval Coutinho. Durval Coutinho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Carlos Santana might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Durval Coutinho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Santana ran back to his position shaking his head. Durval Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Santana in the 21st minute of play. Galo do Japi's César dos Santos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Guga Mazza in the 22 minute of the game. Carlos Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Coutinho having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Santana came free, but Durval Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Durval Coutinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cafu Ringaa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the game, Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Durval Coutinho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After 40 minutes of play, Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Durval Coutinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! 45 minutes into the game, Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Durval Coutinho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. Carlos Santana took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Durval Coutinho. Durval Coutinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-7 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Richard Teles made a kick off. Carlos Santana succeeded in the game's 53rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-8. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Santana got free with Durval Coutinho in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carlos Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Coutinho having to interfere. Guga Mazza made in the 59th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Richard Teles however managed to control. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Botafogo's goalkeeper Durval Coutinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 63rd minute of the game. One of Botafogo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Galo do Japi:s goal. Eriberto de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Durval Coutinho successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Carlos Santana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Durval Coutinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. 77 minutes into the game, Carlos Santana recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Durval Coutinho. Carlos Santana showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-11. Durval Coutinho was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Carlos Santana showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-12 in the 83 minute of play. Botafogo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Carlos Santana scored to the left of an out of position Durval Coutinho, making the score, 0-13. Durval Coutinho was out of position in the 90 minute of play, and Carlos Santana capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Carlos Santana really showed his touch with that goal: 0-14. 93 minutes in the game Guga Mazza did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Richard Teles. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Santana got free with Durval Coutinho in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner ended in Cléberson Lara almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Botafogo's Durval Coutinho did a great save. If Carlos Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Galo do Japi's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
