The SC Turuna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luizão Alves should have stopped the shot. 11 minutes into the match, Ferrao FC's Pelle Grini sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luizão Alves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luizão Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlinhos Viana, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 15th match minute, Ferrao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pelle Grini to maneuver through the defense. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlinhos Viana couldn't finish the play. 34 minutes into the match, Carlinhos Viana notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of SC Turuna's Luizão Alves. Luizão Alves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Carlinhos Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Carlinhos Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Claudinho Arantes hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlinhos Viana made a kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ferrao FC's goalkeeper César Proença, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
