After 3 played minutes SC Turuna got a freekick which was hit by Ivo Pires. 1-0 became the score in the 6th minute when 徐远翀 elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 11th minute, one of SC Turuna:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Turuna. The supporters of VASCO DA GAMA booed when SC Turuna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Guilherme Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Turuna's Luizão Alves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save SC Turuna from getting a goal against them. 24 minutes into the match, Raí Catarinense notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of SC Turuna's Luizão Alves. Luizão Alves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Recai Keçeli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernani Alcântara in the 28th minute of play. Luís Fábio Ramalho charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Fábio Ramalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luís Fábio Ramalho kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. A collision led to SC Turuna getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Vivaldo Viana hit a great ball. After 37 played minutes, VASCO DA GAMA's Adriano Branco shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luizão Alves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in VASCO DA GAMA reached it. 42 minutes into the game, 徐远翀 recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luizão Alves. 徐远翀 showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. 46 minutes into the match, Iwo Pstrongowski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luizão Alves. SC Turuna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iwo Pstrongowski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for 徐远翀 to strike the kick off in the second half. If Erik Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Hernani Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Raí Catarinense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luizão Alves. SC Turuna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raí Catarinense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. After 68 minutes SC Turuna's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Adriano Branco who took care of the corner kick. Adriano Branco made a great header on VASCO DA GAMA's corner, it was just that SC Turuna's Luizão Alves managed to reach the ball for a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denílson Sabóia in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Recai Keçeli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Giovani Simões's late challenge caught a SC Turuna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giovani Simões helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SC Turuna booed when VASCO DA GAMA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovani Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, SC Turuna's Ediberto Leão tried to score from far away in the 75th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. VASCO DA GAMA's Patrick Mendonça was substituted for 徐远翀. VASCO DA GAMA's Inácio Dias was substituted for Adriano Branco. Luizão Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Luizão Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Krzysztof Piczak in the 90th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Krzysztof Piczak in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luizão Alves saved SC Turuna from getting behind. Ediberto Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Mendonça in the 93rd minute of play forced SC Turuna's goalkeeper Luizão Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to SC Turuna getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Ediberto Leão hit a great ball. 95 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when VASCO DA GAMA's Krzysztof Piczak fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. VASCO DA GAMA were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SC Turuna for a fine match.
