Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal got control of the ball when Witold Blochowiak tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 13th minute, Lucio Siekkötter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Janek Tomek was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Janek Tomek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Augusto in the 17th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Comanche EC's goal looked a bit too open when Lei Feng Yan came free, but Janek Tomek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Janek Tomek stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Renato Augusto's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After 22 minutes Comanche EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lei Feng Yan who took care of the corner kick. The corner led S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Lei Feng Yan to fire away a dangerous shot which Janek Tomek despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When S.E.R. The audience was convinced that Renato Augusto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Janek Tomek was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jean-Jacques Rousseau during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Washington de Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Comanche EC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Sidney Vidal hit a great ball. The Comanche EC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul were winning 0-2.
