After a rather tough play, Corinthians Paulistano's Nilton Martins got a free kick in the 11th minute. Defensores de Savóia's Renato Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armandinho Fernandez in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Ramón Pernambucano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Renato Rocha was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 21st minute Armandinho Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renato Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renato Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilton Martins in the 22nd minute of the match. When Corinthians Paulistano's Ramón Pernambucano in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Corinthians Paulistano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Renato Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enéas Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Renato Rocha came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Corinthians Paulistano's Nilton Martins. But to his dismay, Nilton Martins quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 46 minutes into the game, Ramón Pernambucano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Renato Rocha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Defensores de Savóia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Corinthians Paulistano were winning 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ramón Pernambucano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Renato Rocha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armandinho Fernandez's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Nilton Martins kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Renato Rocha. That made the score 0-5 in the 58 minute of play. Defensores de Savóia's Renato Rocha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Defensores de Savóia from getting a goal against them. In the 62nd minute, Corinthians Paulistano's Enéas Passos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. Ramón Pernambucano took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Renato Rocha. Renato Rocha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. Renato Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enéas Passos in the 68th minute of the match. Enéas Passos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Renato Rocha came out and tried to block the shot, but Enéas Passos slotted it home off the left post making it 0-8 in the 69th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Nilton Martins kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Renato Rocha. That made the score 0-9 in the 74 minute of play. Defensores de Savóia's Renato Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilton Martins in the 78th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Corinthians Paulistano's Luiz Eduardo Soares slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Renato Rocha. That made the score 0-10 after 80 minutes of play. Renato Rocha made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Armandinho Fernandez sent off a good shot on target. Enéas Passos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Renato Rocha made a huge save. With a little luck, Defensores de Savóia's Renato Rocha got control of the ball when Ramón Pernambucano tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Defensores de Savóia defense, Nilton Martins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Renato Rocha. The Defensores de Savóia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Renato Rocha should have stopped the shot.
