Atlético Piauiense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Giovanni Simeone was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The MACUMBA fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when MACUMBA's Giovanni Simeone looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Jeremias Azubeli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giovanni Simeone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Porto having to interfere. Inácio Sergipano kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After 20 minutes Atlético Piauiense's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Leonides Kaiet who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Wilson Mineiro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Atlético Piauiense's Ulisses Porto did a great save. After 23 minutes, Cacá Macedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Piauiense and the MACUMBA players grew even worse after the yellow card. MACUMBA's Vivaldo Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ulisses Porto came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by MACUMBA's Giovanni Simeone. But to his dismay, Giovanni Simeone quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Ulisses Porto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovanni Simeone, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. When Giovanni Simeone came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the MACUMBA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovanni Simeone couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Jeremias Azubeli managed to get in a good position for a shot. MACUMBA's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremias Azubeli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulisses Porto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vivaldo Paes took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ulisses Porto. Ulisses Porto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Giovanni Simeone might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ulisses Porto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Giovanni Simeone ran back to his position shaking his head. Ulisses Porto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vivaldo Paes went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. MACUMBA made a substitution. José Jofre replaced Giovanni Simeone. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Renatinho de Sousa made a kick off. Ulisses Porto was a little too slow when José Jofre got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 0-7. Ulisses Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremias Azubeli in the 65th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Piauiense's zone, José Jofre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulisses Porto came out of the goal and José Jofre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. MACUMBA's Tiaguinho Fernandes got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Ulisses Porto successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. José Jofre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Ulisses Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atlético Piauiense's defense didn't have a chance, in the 77th minute, when José Jofre scored to the left of an out of position Ulisses Porto, making the score, 0-10. Jeremias Azubeli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Porto having to interfere. When MACUMBA's José Jofre in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atlético Piauiense's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Atlético Piauiense defense, José Jofre kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ulisses Porto. The Atlético Piauiense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ulisses Porto should have stopped the shot. José Jofre struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Ulisses Porto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MACUMBA. MACUMBA's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
