Spectators: 144 (Terracing: 109, Seating: 33, VIP seats: 2) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Marcus Diniz started the match with the kick off. The audience was convinced that Marcus Diniz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amílton Sá was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. After 8 minutes of play, Taquaral Campineiro's Donato Guerra made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Natanael Paraense was left in no man's land by his defense there! Armando Donatello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Natanael Paraense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Taquaral Campineiro's zone, Marcus Diniz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílton Sá came out of the goal and Marcus Diniz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 26 minutes, Raúl Nóbrega mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taquaral Campineiro and the Goiás Esporte Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 played minutes Taquaral Campineiro got a freekick which was hit by Raúl Nóbrega. The Goiás Esporte Clube fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Goiás Esporte Clube's Marcus Diniz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Amílton Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Peres in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo de Godoi in the 40th minute of play forced Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Natanael Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Taquaral Campineiro's Geraldo de Godoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Natanael Paraense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Goiás Esporte Clube's Dênis Faria got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amílton Sá made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcus Diniz in the 45th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Goiás Esporte Clube's zone, Raúl Nóbrega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natanael Paraense came out of the goal and Raúl Nóbrega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcus Diniz in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amílton Sá saved Taquaral Campineiro from getting behind. In the 59th match minute, Taquaral Campineiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Baptista to maneuver through the defense. Valdir Neves took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Amílton Sá. Taquaral Campineiro's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Natanael Paraense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geraldo de Godoi. Raúl Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donato Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natanael Paraense having to interfere. Taquaral Campineiro's Raúl Nóbrega got his second yellow card of the match in the 72nd minute. The referee ordered Raúl Nóbrega off the ground. Raúl Nóbrega hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Taquaral Campineiro's Amílton Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Diniz in the 74th minute of play. Amílton Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Umberto Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus Diniz scored 4-2 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amílton Sá, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcus Diniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Sá having to interfere. Amílton Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Peres in the 88th minute of play. Goiás Esporte Clube's Natanael Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo de Godoi in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Diniz in the 91st minute of play forced Taquaral Campineiro's goalkeeper Amílton Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Umberto Peres blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amílton Sá having to make a save. Marcus Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Taquaral Campineiro's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
