Gil Carioca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Valiente Venezian took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gil Carioca. Gil Carioca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. A collision led to Cercadinho getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. William de Castro hit a great ball. In the 18th minute William de Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Antônio Tinoco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, William de Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cercadinho's supporters rose to their feet, but William de Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil Carioca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dedê Negri made in the 26th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Erasmo Loureiro immediately put the ball in play. Valiente Venezian blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gil Carioca having to make a save. 34 minutes into the match, Nordestão Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when William de Castro came free, but Gil Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 36 minutes into the game, Cercadinho's Valiente Venezian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gil Carioca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 39th match minute, Cercadinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valiente Venezian to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the game, Valiente Venezian was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cercadinho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nordestão Futebol Clube the free kick. Gil Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valiente Venezian, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jano Matorin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Valiente Venezian left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cercadinho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. In the 54th minute, Cercadinho's Valiente Venezian dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. 58 minutes into the match, Valiente Venezian had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gil Carioca. Nordestão Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valiente Venezian was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Cercadinho's Everton Ribeiro was substituted for Luís Fernando Queiroz. Everton Ribeiro's late challenge caught a Nordestão Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Everton Ribeiro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd match minute, Cercadinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Everton Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valiente Venezian in the 65th minute of play forced Nordestão Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Gil Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute, Valiente Venezian left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cercadinho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. Cercadinho's Jailson Mazza was substituted for Ricardinho Sousa. 70 minutes into the match, Nordestão Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Gil Carioca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valiente Venezian. William de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valiente Venezian succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-8 in the 76th playminute. Cercadinho made a substitution. Edmundo Aparecido replaced Ulf Bergqvist. In the 82nd minute, Valiente Venezian made a precise shot to the right of Gil Carioca. Nordestão Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-9. William de Castro took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gil Carioca. Gil Carioca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-10. William de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Carioca having to interfere. Cercadinho's William de Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Nordestão Futebol Clube supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cercadinho's performance. The match ended with a win for Cercadinho.
