An unexpectedly hard shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 11th minute of play forced Metoloko FC's goalkeeper Gil de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 15 in the game by Pipis Karapatakis from a close distance when the talented Gil de Almeida managed to make a qualified save. Metoloko FC's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Gabriel Botelho in the 18th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Jardel Sanches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pipis Karapatakis in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gil de Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 26 minutes into the game, Alberto Estevon threw the ball into play from the sideline. Metoloko FC's Aníbal de Salles quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Pipis Karapatakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Gil de Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pipis Karapatakis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Gil de Almeida made a huge save. Pipis Karapatakiss short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Gil de Almeida to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With his leg Gil de Almeida managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Grêmio FBPA's Darío Pereyra fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gil de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 42nd minute of the match. Nestor Leão made in the 44th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Filiph Biörling. Pipis Karapatakis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Gil de Almeida when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pipis Karapatakis was the one to do the kick off. Gil de Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darío Pereyra, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by Metoloko FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alberto Estevon was slow to take the kick. During this time Grêmio FBPA's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Alberto Estevon almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Metoloko FC's Gil de Almeida did a great save. Pedro Luís Tasso might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jardel Sanches. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedro Luís Tasso ran back to his position shaking his head. 61 minutes into the game, Dagoberto Barral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Metoloko FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio FBPA the free kick. After a rather tough play, Metoloko FC's Cipriano Figueiredo got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After some careless play in the Metoloko FC defense, Darío Pereyra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gil de Almeida. The Metoloko FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gil de Almeida should have stopped the shot. Gil de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 67th minute of the match. The supporters of Grêmio FBPA booed when Metoloko FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franklin Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filiph Biörling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gil de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 71st minute of play. In the 78th match minute, Grêmio FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor Leão to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Pipis Karapatakis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gil de Almeida was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. 84 minutes into the match, Metoloko FC's goal looked a bit too open when Filiph Biörling came free, but Gil de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute of the match Grêmio FBPA got a corner. Metoloko FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alberto Estevon ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 86 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Deivid de Sena. Grêmio FBPA's Valdir de Alcântara was substituted for Filiph Biörling. Deivid de Sena hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 89thth minute of the game Darío Pereyra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Metoloko FC's Gil de Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Metoloko FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pipis Karapatakis came free, but Gil de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Metoloko FC's goalie prevented a goal. Gil de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 96th minute of play. Grêmio FBPA's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
