An unexpectedly hard shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 17th minute of play forced Metoloko FC's goalkeeper Gil de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes Metoloko FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alberto Estevon who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Nestor Leão got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gil de Almeida quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 20 minutes of play, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gil de Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Grêmio FBPA's Rafa de Almeida got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Filiph Biörling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil de Almeida having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Pipis Karapatakis made a precise shot to the right of Gil de Almeida. Metoloko FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Gil de Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grêmio FBPA's Jardel Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Luís Tasso in the 33rd minute of play. Pipis Karapatakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gil de Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pipis Karapatakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Gil de Almeida didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pipis Karapatakis went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. 43 minutes into the game, Grêmio FBPA's Pipis Karapatakis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gil de Almeida made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. 46 minutes into the game, Pipis Karapatakis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Gil de Almeida was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Grêmio FBPA were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gusmão Vilela stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gusmão Vilela in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jardel Sanches prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Franklin Vasconcelos fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Metoloko FC's protests and gave Franklin Vasconcelos a yellow card for diving instead. Franklin Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Pipis Karapatakis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gil de Almeida was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. When the final whistle sounded Grêmio FBPA left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Metoloko FC.
