When Geovanni Donato came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the São Wilson fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovanni Donato couldn't finish the play. Quinto Fonticoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Almir do Valle in the 14th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Shi Feng Yun successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Shi Feng Yun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gomesano Gatica in the 19th minute of play. But to his dismay, Gomesano Gatica quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. A collision led to São Wilson getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Edison Mauriz hit a great ball. Grêmio Prudente's Eleuterio Gaztea got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edson Ribeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Shi Feng Yun made a huge save. After 40 played minutes Grêmio Prudente got a freekick which was hit by Andy Strömberg. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

In the 53rdth minute of the game Lucrețiu Grigore who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but São Wilson's Shi Feng Yun was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Shi Feng Yun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edson Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Grêmio Prudente's Quinto Fonticoba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Grêmio Prudente from getting a goal against them. 57 minutes into the match, Grêmio Prudente's Lucrețiu Grigore sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Shi Feng Yun narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Grêmio Prudente's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eleuterio Gaztea in the 59th minute. After taking down the ball on Grêmio Prudente's corner Eleuterio Gaztea fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Shi Feng Yun quite easily take care of the ball. In the 77th match minute, Grêmio Prudente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gomesano Gatica to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucrețiu Grigore in the 89th minute of play forced São Wilson's goalkeeper Shi Feng Yun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shi Feng Yun didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gomesano Gatica went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. São Wilson's Shi Feng Yun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gomesano Gatica in the 96th minute of play. Quinto Fonticoba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silvinho Moraes in the 97th minute. 97 minutes into the match, Grêmio Prudente's goalkeeper Quinto Fonticoba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvinho Moraes. Grêmio Prudente's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
