Quinto Fonticoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Laureano, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The supporters of Grêmio Prudente booed when Mochila FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sydney Terra didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mochila FC's zone, Eleuterio Gaztea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edson Ribeiro to make the kick off. If Edson Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edson Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederico Madureira having to interfere. It was a penalty for Mochila FC! Anfilogino Genovese's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Quinto Fonticoba firmly grabbed it by the left post. The Mochila FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frederico Madureira should have stopped the shot. Edson Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederico Madureira having to interfere. Gomesano Gatica struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Frederico Madureira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio Prudente. Frederico Madureira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edson Ribeiro went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Grêmio Prudente's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
