Amadeo Rufo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Roberto Moura in the 14th minute of the match. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Amadeo Rufo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wágner Prado in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's goalkeeper Jarbas Guedes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edin Džeko. Jarbas Guedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme Peres in the 20th minute of play. In the 26th match minute, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 徐斌义 to maneuver through the defense. Amadeo Rufo came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by S S Palestra Italia's Inácio Figueiredo. But to his dismay, Inácio Figueiredo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Dário Goiano's late challenge caught a S S Palestra Italia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dário Goiano helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Dário Goiano got a free kick in the 35th minute. After recieving a nice pass, S S Palestra Italia's Inácio Figueiredo tried to score from far away in the 35th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Edin Džeko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Jarbas Guedes made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Inácio Figueiredo in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amadeo Rufo saved Nova Erechim - FSCMZ from getting behind. Inácio Figueiredo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amadeo Rufo having to make a save. The Nova Erechim - FSCMZ players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. S S Palestra Italia were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edin Džeko to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Inácio Figueiredo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Amadeo Rufo. Inácio Figueiredo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. 徐斌义 made in the 55th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Diguinho Saraiva. Inácio Figueiredo scored 0-3 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amadeo Rufo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edin Džeko took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jarbas Guedes. Jarbas Guedes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. A collision led to Nova Erechim - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Dário Goiano hit a great ball. The supporters of Nova Erechim - FSCMZ booed when S S Palestra Italia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséas Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball.
