The corner went over the outstretched arms of Catanduvense FC's goalie and right to Faustino Ferrando. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Catanduvense FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yusuf Ziya Ruhittin in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rogelio Thomas saved Catanduvense FC from getting behind. When FC BARCELONA's Gaston Bitze in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Catanduvense FC's goalie prevented a goal. If Délio de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. A very nice done corner allowed Paulinho Afonso to score against Ian Nogueira in FC BARCELONA's goal. 1-0 after 25 minutes. When Sten Norberg fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Catanduvense FC's protests and gave Sten Norberg a yellow card for diving instead. Rogelio Thomas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Bitze in the 36th minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC BARCELONA's Gaston Bitze got a free kick in the 37th minute. Paulinho Afonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Nogueira having to interfere. After some careless play in the Catanduvense FC defense, Faustino Ferrando kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rogelio Thomas. The Catanduvense FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rogelio Thomas should have stopped the shot. Rogelio Thomas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Bitze, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Yusuf Ziya Ruhittin made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes in the game, Yusuf Ziya Ruhittin fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Rogelio Thomas having to interfere.
