Mediolanum's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mané Bezerra helped the player get up and apologised. Pindorama's Hortêncio Duarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Pindorama from getting a goal against them. Nelsinho Meira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ramiro Zanette could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Hortêncio Duarte made a huge save. With a little luck, Pindorama's Hortêncio Duarte got control of the ball when Sílvio Luís Gerber tried to sneak it across the goal line. After taking down the ball on Pindorama's corner Cafu Martins fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Leopoldo Sá quite easily take care of the ball. Douglas Dionísio hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After having played for 31 minutes, Nelsinho Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pindorama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelsinho Meira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sílvio Luís Gerber got free with Hortêncio Duarte in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute Sílvio Luís Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hortêncio Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ramiro Zanette could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Hortêncio Duarte made a huge save. After 42 played minutes Pindorama got a freekick which was hit by Genílson Marques. After a defensive mix-up in Pindorama's zone, Sílvio Luís Gerber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hortêncio Duarte came out of the goal and Sílvio Luís Gerber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Pindorama's Douglas Dionísio got a free kick in the 46th minute.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sílvio Luís Gerber made a kick off. The supporters of A.C. Mediolanum booed when Pindorama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Qwinton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hortêncio Duarte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Gerber, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Zanette in the 55th minute of play forced Pindorama's goalkeeper Hortêncio Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nelsinho Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Sá having to interfere. Nelsinho Meira ran back to his position shaking his head. Agnaldo Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 82 played minutes A.C. Mediolanum got a freekick which was hit by Jailson Arantes. In the 85th minute, Ramiro Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Nelsinho Meira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leopoldo Sá was relentless in the 88th minute of the game.
