The audience thought a goal was coming when Cacá Braga got free with Pedro Rudolfo in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Malcolm Carlsson was the one to do the kick off. With an all-out effort, S.C. Tigres Paulista's Iwan Wojtyna threw himself towards the right post 52 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Amauri Messias, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of RED-STAR booed when S.C. Tigres Paulista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amauri Messias didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to RED-STAR getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Augusto Arce hit a great ball. Malcolm Carlsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Rudolfo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Pedro Rudolfo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silas Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. RED-STAR's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dagoberto Linhares in the 94th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. RED-STAR had won after a very even match.
