In the 7th match minute, Botafogo AP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wesley Barral to maneuver through the defense. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romeu Borges. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Barra EC's zone, Fritz Ernst Joinvilense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romeu Borges came out of the goal and Fritz Ernst Joinvilense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the match, Botafogo AP's Fritz Ernst Joinvilense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Romeu Borges narrowly saved just below the crossbar. José Pedro Bertassi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luiz Souto in the 19th minute of the match. In the 20th match minute, Botafogo AP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrinho Alvarenga to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Luiz Souto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romeu Borges. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense ran back to his position shaking his head. José Pedro Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Paraense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Luiz Souto in the 34th minute of play forced Botafogo AP's goalkeeper José Pedro Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Botafogo AP defense, Remy Sanderson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Pedro Bertassi. The Botafogo AP fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Pedro Bertassi should have stopped the shot. 45 minutes into the match, Botafogo AP's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luiz Souto came free, but José Pedro Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Pedro Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Paraense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedro Luiz Souto was the one to do the kick off. If Ademir de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Luiz Souto was slow to take the kick. During this time Barra EC's players had a chance to rest. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Válter Lopes got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-2. 55 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Pedro Luiz Souto put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of José Pedro Bertassi. The supporters of Barra EC booed when Botafogo AP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedrinho Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Luiz Souto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Pedro Bertassi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute of the match Barra EC got a corner. Botafogo AP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pedro Luiz Souto ran over to the corner to take the kick. José Pedro Bertassi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válter Lopes in the 70th minute of the match. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romeu Borges read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Barra EC made a substitution. Roger Cearense replaced Manuel Loyola. A well-hit corner resulted in Gugu Simões heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Botafogo AP's Carlos Eduardo Furlan was substituted for Fritz Ernst Joinvilense. In the 81st minute of the match, Ismael Paraense tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but José Pedro Bertassi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Botafogo AP's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Ismael Paraense scored to the left of an out of position José Pedro Bertassi, making the score, 0-4. Carlos Eduardo Furlan scored 1-4 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Romeu Borges, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pedro Luiz Souto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but José Pedro Bertassi made a huge save. Barra EC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
