When Laércio Aguiar fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Beneficiente's protests and gave Laércio Aguiar a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Verdão da Mantiqueira booed when Beneficiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laércio Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Beneficiente's Dida Senna got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 20th minute, Roberto Tinoco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Beneficiente's Lara Peñaranda got control of the ball when Hermínio Moreno tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lara Peñaranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Cunha in the 26th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Verdão da Mantiqueira's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Guilherme Cunha came free, but Niklas Lundhberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abel Linares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Lara Peñaranda made a huge save. A collision led to Verdão da Mantiqueira getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Hermínio Moreno hit a great ball. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The Verdão da Mantiqueira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. When the referee ended the match the Verdão da Mantiqueira players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
