After 15 minutes of play, Vertiplano FC's Edmílson Montenegro made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tiago Godoi was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 19thth minute of the game Edmílson Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but São Paulo F.C.'s Tiago Godoi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chris Hudson took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tiago Godoi. Tiago Godoi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After a rather tough play, Vertiplano FC's Lauro Linhares got a free kick in the 28th minute. The audience was convinced that Ronaldo Crispín's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iuri Silva was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. After having played for 42 minutes, Alessandro Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronaldo Crispín was the one to do the kick off. Iuri Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yaya Sow in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmílson Montenegro in the 54th minute of play forced São Paulo F.C.'s goalkeeper Tiago Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, São Paulo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Alessandro Prado came free, but Tiago Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Vertiplano FC booed when São Paulo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovani Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiago Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmílson Montenegro in the 75th minute of play. Dorian Quadros kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Alessandro Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ronaldo Crispín charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ronaldo Crispín the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to São Paulo F.C. getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Ronaldo Crispín hit a great ball. In the 81st minute Alessandro Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiago Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 90 minutes, Iuri Silva successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Iuri Silva had great luck who in the 90thth minute grab hold of the ball when Ronaldo Crispín from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. A collision led to São Paulo F.C. getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Dirk Snabl hit a great ball. Vertiplano FC's Iuri Silva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Vertiplano FC from getting a goal against them. 96 minutes into the game, one of São Paulo F.C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
