Ian Arantes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chris Hudson in the 15th minute of the match. Ted Nagel hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. When Vertiplano FC's Edmílson Montenegro in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ian Arantes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alessandro Prado, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Alessandro Prado scored 0-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ian Arantes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Scalusni Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Ando Descalzo hit a great ball. Serginho Vianna's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Iuri Silva firmly grabbed it by the left post. Iuri Silva was a little too slow when Serginho Vianna got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 1-2. Scalusni Futebol Clube's Ian Arantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessandro Prado in the 42nd minute of play. After having played for 47 minutes, Bola Gøl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scalusni Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bola Gøl was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Scalusni Futebol Clube players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vertiplano FC were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmílson Montenegro made a kick off. Scalusni Futebol Clube's Ian Arantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmílson Montenegro in the 51st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Edmílson Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ian Arantes was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. The supporters of Vertiplano FC booed when Scalusni Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdo Novaes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute of the match, Edmílson Montenegro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ian Arantes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Alessandro Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vertiplano FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alessandro Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ian Arantes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vertiplano FC's Murilo Arantes was substituted for Marian Gârneț. Ian Arantes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmílson Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Edmílson Montenegro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ian Arantes. That made the score 1-4 in the 73 minute of play. Scalusni Futebol Clube's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Inocencio Gacitúa scored to the left of an out of position Ian Arantes, making the score, 1-5. Chris Hudson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ian Arantes came out and tried to block the shot, but Chris Hudson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 96th minute. The Scalusni Futebol Clube fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Vertiplano FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
