The supporters of Premier FC booed when Vertiplano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmílson Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Premier FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. With his leg Dorival Freire managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Vertiplano FC's Alessandro Prado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vertiplano FC. If Edmílson Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With an all-out effort, Vertiplano FC's Dorival Freire threw himself towards the right post 64 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edmílson Montenegro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 67th minute Duda Velloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iuri Silva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vertiplano FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
