Róbson Mendes started the match with the kick off. 10 minutes into the match, Teobaldo Casado notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Inter de São Paulo's Kléber Salles. Kléber Salles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 16th minute, Richard Gustafsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Laércio Loureiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nildo da Silveira firmly grabbed it by the left post. With his leg Nildo da Silveira managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Inter de São Paulo's Laércio Loureiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Laércio Loureiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kléber Salles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Róbson Mendes's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Milosz Korytkowski kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Morrinhos Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Valle. Marcus Britto kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th minute of the match Pedro Donatello shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nildo da Silveira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Inter de São Paulo made a substitution. Yan Ceresso replaced César Alagoano. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Donatello to make the kick off. Nildo da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laércio Loureiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Humberto Valle hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Nildo da Silveira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedro Donatello went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Laércio Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laércio Loureiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nildo da Silveira having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio Loureiro in the 74th minute of play forced Morrinhos Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Nildo da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th match minute, Morrinhos Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Valle to maneuver through the defense. In the 77th minute Laércio Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nildo da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laércio Loureiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nildo da Silveira having to make a save. In the 79th minute Laércio Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nildo da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Morrinhos Futebol Clube's zone, Predrag Djordjević stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nildo da Silveira came out of the goal and Predrag Djordjević tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute, Humberto Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Inter de São Paulo made a substitution. Gerson Coelho replaced Laércio Loureiro. Humberto Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Pedro Donatello made a precise shot to the right of Nildo da Silveira. Morrinhos Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Morrinhos Futebol Clube's Nildo da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerson Coelho in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson Coelho in the 92nd minute of play forced Morrinhos Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Nildo da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Predrag Djordjević came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Inter de São Paulo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Predrag Djordjević couldn't finish the play. If Gerson Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Inter de São Paulo's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
