In the 4th minute Paulo Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalberto de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 8 in the game by Ferenc Puskás from a close distance when the talented Allan Varela managed to make a qualified save. Palestra do Interior's players were relieved. In the 10th minute, Paulo Godoi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palestra do Interior fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 14 minutes into the match, Guarani Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Godoi came free, but Adalberto de Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Ernani Velasco got a free kick in the 19th minute. After 21 minutes, Paulo Godoi made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. In the 29thth minute of the game Paulo Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guarani Futebol Clube's Adalberto de Moraes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fausto da Cunha charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fausto da Cunha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Guarani Futebol Clube's Fausto da Cunha got a free kick in the 30th minute. Adalberto de Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Palestra do Interior's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hudson Sergipano in the 33rd minute. Gernando Custódio tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Adalberto de Moraes. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-3 in the 33rd minute. Adalberto de Moraes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulo Godoi's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Paulo Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Adalberto de Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Allan Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orhun Taran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Ferenc Puskás made the kick off in the second half. Mecnun Akbaşak kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. After 75 minutes Guarani Futebol Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Niclas Danielsson who took care of the corner kick. Niclas Danielsson made a great header on Palestra do Interior's corner, it was just that Guarani Futebol Clube's Adalberto de Moraes managed to reach the ball for a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Vitório Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palestra do Interior's supporters rose to their feet, but Vitório Lago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adalberto de Moraes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Erruki Sotes hit a great ball. Ferenc Puskás recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adalberto de Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitório Lago in the 83rd minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adalberto de Moraes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Vitório Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boyisana Mnisi kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Allan Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mecnun Akbaşak, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. When the final whistle went the supporters of Palestra do Interior were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Guarani Futebol Clube side.
