During this time Jumentus Rock Club's players had a chance to rest. 19 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Tomé de Castro came free, but Allan Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jumentus Rock Club's Tomás Ceresso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Godoi in the 20th minute of play. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Jumentus Rock Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hudson Sergipano was slow to take the kick. During this time Palestra do Interior's players had a chance to rest. Palestra do Interior's Hudson Sergipano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tomás Ceresso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Josué Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomás Ceresso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palestra do Interior. The Jumentus Rock Club players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Palestra do Interior were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reinaldo Arce made a kick off. Aureliusz Soroka kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. With a little luck, Jumentus Rock Club's Tomás Ceresso got control of the ball when Paulo Godoi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Palestra do Interior's Herbert Pankowski quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Aureliusz Soroka, made in the 65th minute of the game. If Tomé de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugênio Alagoano to maneuver through the defense. Silas Favoretto's late challenge caught a Palestra do Interior's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
