An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezary Walaszkiewicz in the 44th minute of play forced Ceará's goalkeeper Steve Kerr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ceará's Vinícius Vander was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Léo Tinoco in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a rather tough play, Ceará's Ciro Cordeiro got a free kick in the 77th minute. Bonita's Léo Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Vander in the 81st minute of play. Steve Kerr made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cezary Walaszkiewicz in the 85th minute. Fernando Vander blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Léo Tinoco having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Dinei Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ceará's supporters rose to their feet, but Dinei Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Léo Tinoco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Bonita supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bonita would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
