Omar Motta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carlos Eduardo Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cris Courtois having to interfere. Omar Motta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brian Finnman, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Omar Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carlos Vianna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute of the match Brian Finnman shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Omar Motta showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Omar Motta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juarês Donato in the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Egídio Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Omar Motta made a huge save. Iker Chan hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaac Åkesson in the 63rd minute of play forced Wambalamba FC's goalkeeper Cris Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
