Gilvan Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ulisses Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naldo Proença having to interfere. Gilvan Sanches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Mendonça in the 8th minute of the match. Fausto Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Gilvan Sanches tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute Jessie Pinkman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naldo Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Mendonça in the 18th minute of play forced Green Squad FC's goalkeeper Gilvan Sanches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, Fausto Mendonça got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gilvan Sanches. That made the score 2-0 after 24 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fausto Mendonça got free with Gilvan Sanches in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 33 played minutes Green Squad FC got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Maia. Jessie Pinkman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Naldo Proença read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. In the 42nd minute of the match Scarlet Speedster got a corner. Green Squad FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edward Krzynowek ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Green Squad FC booed when Scarlet Speedster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Krzynowek didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

Gilvan Sanches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Fausto Mendonça's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilvan Sanches read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. When Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Green Squad FC's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Fausto Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scarlet Speedster's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilvan Sanches breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Green Squad FC defense, Fausto Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilvan Sanches. The Green Squad FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilvan Sanches should have stopped the shot. After having played for 69 minutes, Fausto Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scarlet Speedster's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fausto Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute, Fausto Mendonça made a precise shot to the right of Gilvan Sanches. Green Squad FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. After a rather tough play, Green Squad FC's Conrado Pernambucano got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 87th minute Fausto Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilvan Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilvan Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Green Squad FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Mendonça came free, but Gilvan Sanches reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilvan Sanches made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. The throw-in from Renato Messias in the 97th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Scarlet Speedster's Edward Krzynowek. Fausto Mendonça might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilvan Sanches. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fausto Mendonça ran back to his position shaking his head. Scarlet Speedster's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
