After having played for 20 minutes, Chico de Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jovens Democratas MZC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chico de Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adriano Penha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xu Li Sang, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Eliézer Buenos short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Dalmo Saldanha to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dalmo Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Fonticoba in the 34th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Glauco Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The attack was good, but when Chico de Sousa in the 40th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Chico de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cássio Velasco to strike the kick off in the second half. Javier Fonticoba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Hélio Corrêa came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Jumentus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hélio Corrêa couldn't finish the play. Dalmo Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliézer Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jovens Democratas MZC's Xu Li Sang got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Jovens Democratas MZC booed when Jumentus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adriano Penha made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Chico de Sousa sent off a good shot on target. The corner ended in Dobromir Zagrodny almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Jumentus's Adriano Penha did a great save. Adriano Penha didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Jovens Democratas MZC's Chico de Sousa shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Dobromir Zagrodny received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adriano Penha came out and tried to block the shot, but Dobromir Zagrodny slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 76th minute. Javier Fonticoba hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 83 minutes into the match, Jumentus's goalkeeper Adriano Penha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chico de Sousa. Jovens Democratas MZC's Ruy de Brito was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Adriano Penha in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Adriano Penha made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Marco van Basten sent off a good shot on target. Marco van Basten's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Adriano Penha firmly grabbed it by the left post. 97 minutes into the match, Elano Loureiro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Adriano Penha, 0-4.
