The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Jovens Democratas MZC's David Puyol got a free kick in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudolph Flege in the 6th minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Dalmo Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute of the match, Xu Li Sang got a very nice opportunity to score, but Wagner Vaida was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 12th minute, Chico de Sousa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wagner Vaida. The goal made the score 1-0. Dalmo Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isen Gard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dalmo Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marek Strandberg in the 37th minute of play. 38 minutes into the game, Tytus Loncki was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ribeiro Sales FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jovens Democratas MZC the free kick. In the 38th match minute, Ribeiro Sales FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tytus Loncki to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the game, Edvaldo da Mata was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ribeiro Sales FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jovens Democratas MZC the free kick. The supporters of Jovens Democratas MZC booed when Ribeiro Sales FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvaldo da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chico de Sousa to strike the kick off in the second half. The Ribeiro Sales FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wagner Vaida should have stopped the shot. 78 minutes into the match, Ribeiro Sales FC's Rudolph Flege sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dalmo Saldanha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Dobromir Zagrodny came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Jovens Democratas MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dobromir Zagrodny couldn't finish the play. Jovens Democratas MZC's Elano Loureiro was substituted for Dobromir Zagrodny. João Augusto Fantini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmo Saldanha having to interfere. Marco van Basten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wagner Vaida having to make a save. In the 85th minute, Marco van Basten ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wagner Vaida was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Wagner Vaida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco van Basten, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Jovens Democratas MZC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ribeiro Sales FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
