Bebeto Pimenta kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Santos City were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tato Vega stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Que se abra o mar booed when Santos City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caner Timurhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Que se abra o mar's goalkeeper Sandro Tepedino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adilson Andrade. The Santos City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Santos City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
