Jacinto Loureiro made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Elvio Silva sent off a good shot on target. Renatinho Tavares might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rogelio Aurken. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Renatinho Tavares ran back to his position shaking his head. Rogelio Aurken didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Renatinho Tavares went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Renatinho Tavares scored 0-2 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rogelio Aurken, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 29 minutes into the match, Marília AC's goalkeeper Jacinto Loureiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adilson Andrade. Rogelio Aurken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renatinho Tavares in the 30th minute of play. Rogelio Aurken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renatinho Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Adilson Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Jacinto Loureiro made a huge save. After 42 minutes of play, Marília AC's Tomás Marques made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rogelio Aurken was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 45 played minutes Marília AC got a freekick which was hit by Bai Feng Ting. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 88th minute of the match, Delfim de Andrade tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rogelio Aurken saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Santos City booed when Marília AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikos Koutsomitras didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Santos City's goalkeeper Rogelio Aurken, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 95th minute of the match Marília AC got a corner. Santos City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abel Barros ran over to the corner to take the kick. Delfim de Andrade made a great header on Marília AC's corner, it was just that Santos City's Rogelio Aurken managed to reach the ball for a save. Marília AC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
