In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Inter Gala's goalkeeper Eduardo Baiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carlisle Schultz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredão Brasil during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Karl-Magnus Biörkquist was slow to take the kick. During this time Inter Gala's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Inter Gala's Karl-Magnus Biörkquist to fire away a dangerous shot which Carlisle Schultz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Eduardo Baiano made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Ingemar Kilman sent off a good shot on target. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ingemar Kilman was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Alfredão Brasil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ingemar Kilman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Fluminense DF's Ingemar Kilman in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Inter Gala:s Eduardo Baiano showed great skill when he stopped Aslan Raci:s penalty. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ingemar Kilman in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eduardo Baiano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Through an outstanding action, after 81 minutes, Carlisle Schultz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Inter Gala's Donato Capixaba was substituted for Karl-Magnus Biörkquist. Fluminense DF's Prudencio Goiz was substituted for Ingemar Kilman. A throw-in in the 85th minute of the game was made by Dênis Cavalcante with Heinz Stalder as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Eduardo Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prudencio Goiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Prudencio Goiz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fluminense DF's supporters rose to their feet, but Prudencio Goiz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Baiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 97 minutes into the game, Fluminense DF's Prudencio Goiz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eduardo Baiano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0.
