POA Gladiators's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 12th minute of the match Matías de Andrade sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Augusto Pombal skillfully saved the ball. After 13 minutes of play, Sport Club Internacional's Joacim Melander made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Augusto Pombal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joacim Melander in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Augusto Pombal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When João Vítor Cruz fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport Club Internacional's protests and gave João Vítor Cruz a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Fermín Mala's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maicon Fernandez was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fermín Mala to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Matías de Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Club Internacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Matías de Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
