With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Virgílio Trigo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Mai sent off a good shot on target. Glauco Breckenfeld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. After 27 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelino Nueva was left in no man's land by his defense there! 35 minutes into the match, Reko-Recko 03™'s goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Angelino Nueva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, Jonathan Venegas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Reko-Recko 03™ the free kick. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match.
