In the 3rd minute Edward Mcdonald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Ekrot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcus Ekrot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassius Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute Martin Mutumba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Vykans Vikingar's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Marcus Ekrot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When USA's Cassius Byrne in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After taking down the ball on USA's corner Monty Rogers fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcus Ekrot quite easily take care of the ball. After 24 minutes, Monty Rogers made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcus Ekrot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Mcdonald, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute of the match USA got a corner. Vykans Vikingar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cassius Byrne ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Jenson Smith almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot did a great save. Marco Day made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Eric Van Lint sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 36th minute of play forced Vykans Vikingar's goalkeeper Marcus Ekrot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Ekrot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 38th minute of play forced Vykans Vikingar's goalkeeper Marcus Ekrot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Ekrot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 41st minute of the match. After the first half USA were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Martin Mutumba made a kick off. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Van Lint in the 54th minute of play. 54 minutes into the game, Vykans Vikingar's Eric Van Lint nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marco Day made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Marcus Ekrot in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vykans Vikingar's Abdi Revis was substituted for Eric Van Lint. Vykans Vikingar's Leonardo Trancoso was substituted for Faas Wilkes. Vykans Vikingar made a substitution. Elliott Bogren replaced Hugo Eden. In the 62nd minute USA were awarded a corner. Cassius Byrne went to the cornerflag to take it. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdi Revis in the 65th minute of play. Monty Rogers blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcus Ekrot having to make a save. If Sam Campbell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sam Campbell got free with Marcus Ekrot in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. USA made a substitution. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. Marcus Ekrot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khalid Parry in the 82nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the USA defense, Martin Mutumba kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Day. The USA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Day should have stopped the shot. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Mutumba in the 89th minute of play. Marco Baker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus Ekrot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Many of USA's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. USA may have spent more time on the ball, but Vykans Vikingar were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
